Beta Testers Needed

This topic is for anybody willing to join beta testing for upcoming versions.
This will include play testing for balancing and bug/glitch finding, as well as making reports on your findings.

Minimum requirements are as follows:

Must be able to participate in beta testing sessions (evenings, with prior notification).
All beta testing will be done on the Twilight server (twilightgaming.co.za), so you must be either a regular twilight player, or be able to play on twilight without heavy lag.
At least a year playing TTW. No noobs will be considered. This does not mean you must be one of the best, it means you must have sufficient knowledge about the builders, the creeps, the bosses, and TTW gameplay in general to give informed opinions on changes and balancing.

To apply, reply here with these details:
1. Links to at least 2 replays of yourself playing, preferably uploaded to quickshare.co.za
2. How long you have been playing TTW
3. Previous accounts we may have seen you play on
4. Builders you do not know as well as others (eg. Personally I don't play Blood Elf much), so we can judge your play fairly if playing with them during testing


You do not have to win in the above mentioned replays, they are just to see how well you play, regardless of your team and whoever else is playing. You are welcome to post links to replays from 5.46b or 5.47, however at least 2 replays must be from 5.48. On a side note, playing a hard race well compared with playing an easy race well will be in your favour. If you can't tell which races are hard or easy yet, then you are not experienced enough for a testing position.

Lastly, this is to apply for trial beta, not full. There will be a week long trial period for players accepted via the forum. During this week it will be decided whether or not they will be promoted to full beta testers

I agree with all the miminum requirements, I started to play ttw on garena, now I play at eurobattle, and battle net. I'm not pretty sure for how long I've been playing TTW but I know that is more than 1 year
I have a good knowledge of the game, and races either.

Garena name - hortblade or .|rSix
EuroBattle and BattleNet - PdV.hort

The only builder that I have some doubts its the Lich, all the others I know how to play very well.

I saved 3 replays with 3 good races, goblin, missallyoucanknow and human, all three are good races. As you'll see on replays my team wasn't that good, but I made what I could.

OK, there was a problem in the replays, because i got then from the bot's folder instead of save them from warcraft folder, I did more four replays flame mistress mountain wolf, missallyoucanknow and lich, I tested then, and all are working.

Because I am having a very hard time playing them...
When I open any of them , it finishes after rnd 2, but the chat continues, cant see income, maze, towers .... nothing.... just the final scoreboard for the whole time of the replay.

I have never heard of such thing and I am not excluding that it can also be from my war3, but again i ask you :

no i didn't i get then right from the bot folder, i'll check then and fix it

same error for me, i'll record new replays today sorry about that ;/

I think it may have to do with version compatibility, IE; the replays were recorded in an older version of war3.

From my opinion , which is not official ... Leafmuncher decides who is in or out ... , i think that you should show that you have at least a basic knowledge of juggling.
Also it wouldn't hurt to send a bit more.

i know that, there isn't any rules of play ttw, but i guess is kind of unfair juggling, but yea, i can do some replay with that

Having watched the replays, I can say:
a.) Send more when facing opponents who don't send too hard
b.) You seldom leaked with Flame, however your opponents did not send heavily, and your income was far below par for Flame (one of the best income powerhouses)
c.) From watching you play, I can see you know how to build your maze, with good placement, but none of the mazes used are very unique
d.) Considering you built safe in all games (not so much with lich, but as stated you don't know the builder), your income may get boosted when playing against strong opponents (much like a kill spec, though titles are reserved)

I would like to play a game or 2 with you to see how well you cope under pressure. Also this would serve to see how your line (and isp) will handle testing, as we are on the Twilight server (one of the requirements mentioned) which is located in South Africa:

yea, its hard to find good players at eurobattle, I don't do my own mazes cause, that isn't the objective for ttw, but I am an awesome player at the map "mazing contest" that you have to build your own maze with some conditions, and yea, I base all my strategy on income, i have a TTW team me and 2 friends of mine, and we use a good strategy to win the games, you should see it someday, and also yeah, we should play some day, i'll create a new folder of warcraft to play on twilight.

Actually it's one of my favorite objectives. Designing a maze isn't that easy but it's still part of the game. If you create your own maze which is effective and enables juggling I think this will help you a lot to achieve the "objective of ttw"

haha, yeah, but so like i said, i think its kind of "unfair" juggling, you should do you maze, do the towers, and keep that, so, i know how to do 4-5 kind of mazes, each one for a group of races, and I use the one that i think its better for that race that i picked, so i don't have to keep desigining my own mazes.

I want to be a tester but i live in russia with Twilight minimum ping 500 (mb, i dont know). I can play on Garena(Element TD), ICCup, EuroBatte.

It's ms. Anyway I think there are testers in Garena however I don't think all of them play with low FPS.

Well, 500ms is far lower than my ping when I play sc2 (700ms and up). When I play on garena and eurobattle (its rare, dont even bother asking my alias' for them), I get around 450-600ms, which I find playable (though frustrating). It just takes more planning than reflex.

I don't know specifics about the locations of previous beta testers, but currently we have one tester from europe.

Until I have a stable connection, I likely won't be able to check you in action, but if you play on twilight, post a replay and I can have a look (taking lag factor into account)

I want to sign up for beta testing. I have already sent leaf the replays. I have been playing TTW for about 2 years. I play on twilight currently under Frozenwolf or Callist0. My other main account is Slayer15 which I have not played on for about a year. I probably don't know Miss Allyoucanknow, Chaos Khodobeast and Lich's Bretheren as I don't play them very often but I think I know the other builders pretty well.

Already checked the replays, and have seen you play before.

I would have applied myself a long time ago but schoolwork kinda' got in the way plus I haven't played TTW in quite a while (haven't left the forum mostly for the community ) and finding a replay worthy match is almost impossible. Sooooo... yeah

Nothing is stopping you from trying. Let the developers be the judges of how good you are

Well Katherine you don't play too poorly, but yes, you are lacking in the experience/knowledge department. I would be happy to let you join testing sessions if we need a couple extra players for a full test, but you wouldn't get the "Beta Tester" title (and not be expected to write up a report)

4. I dont like Lich at all, Wisp and Painter since it sucks in beggining vs bettles, if your mid, and your teammates leak, you just cant income you have to build a lot of towers

The first replay didn't work

I watched the second replay and to be honest it doesn't show much. Your opponents were terrible. Your juggling was ok, but your budgeting was rather poor (I can understand your mistakes being due to using a new maze). Try find a game against better opponents so I can see how you play under a bit of pressure.

Also, have you tried playing on the Twilight server? All testing is done there, so if your delay would be too high it will be a problem. Please try a few games on Twilight just to check if its playable (won't need a replay unless you find a good TTW game there)

Can you give me your skype or anything so you can help me a little i dont understand much about twilight, when ever i go i only see 2 games never more, am i set up ok, or what is the problem, and never TTW? I will save some replay as soon as i find good oponents

Hey if you ever want to play on twilight you can just shout it here on the forum and we can play. There aren't many hosts who host TTW on twilight but Katherine is one of those and I often play with her

I hosted about 10 games in 2 days, but im lvl 0 so i have to host, coz i really hate Dota and its only map i even see, i played with Leaf a couple of games

2. Been playing for about a year now. Started playing when AA was around still, but i was so bad back then that it doesn't really count.

im mostly online on twilight in war3 channel for specific reasons.

I want to sign up for beta testing too. I have been playing ttw for about 3-4 years and I really know how to play. I dont think that i need to send replays.. played with leaf alot times so he knows how i play

I would need at least one replay in your case TheRoyalGuard. I tend to focus almost entirely on my own region when I play, so while I know you are a good income pusher, I haven't actually seen how you play other than a few glances in-game.

Sorry I haven't had the chance to review your replays yet Thunderfoxx. Tonight was a beta testing session so I've been quite busy (and still am), so I will make a note to review them tomorrow afternoon or maybe in an hour or so pending sleep (or lack thereof)

If you guys still need beta testers, i'm the guy for you, been playing for a year or two now, only on Garena, nicknamed blackhawk3011, as my forum nickname suggests...

2. I actually play all races quite well, a good, balanced incomer, i mostly like to play middle, and only juggle when necessary, when i play side, if the mid is good, i income alot, if not, well... someone has got to take care of it, right... But nevertheless, i income alot xD
3. I'd say i don't like weak races, such as Ogres or Crystal golems, but all are playable since the game is well balanced..
4. This replay isn't quite my peak, its a nice game... but i'm well aware that i'm playing one of the strongest races and it should have ended as it has..

I didn't tag another replay cause, no false modesty, i believe i'm quite good and will be a good addition to your pack!

Not a bad game. I can see you know the mechanics well, and have a good sense of the map's balance based on conversation during the game.

One issue: The use of the build and cancel mechanics to "freeze" creeps is an exploit, and I want to discourage it as much as possible. Unfortunately it can't be fixed because it's a limitation of the Warcraft 3 engine itself. You didn't abuse it as heavily as some other players I've seen using it, so I'll let it pass.

Thanks a bunch, if you need more, my bro is also someone you might take into consideration, same as me, a good player, and will serve the purpose as its supposed to be, he tried to record a demo, but wants it perfect so he hasn't sent any yet... we can go a game, maybe 2v2 so you can check us out....

And about the build/destroy mechanics, i usually never use it, but those were my friends up there and i was basically teaching them how to play and did it out of randomness... Thanks again!
