Forum Additions (Coming Soon)

Every day, additions / improvements are added to the forum...
Here are a few things which will be coming in the future;

- A new Shoutbox.
- Builder Compendium.
- Builder specific strategies.
- General tutorials / strategies.
- Website Icon.
- Forum header linking to the portal.
- Gallery (Allowing people to post their mazes) and a "How to".
- Link to, and a new TMD (TTW Maze Designer 2).
- Replays section, and a "How to".
- TTW Monthly Challenges.

Just kidding man, anyways, I thought weekly was a bit much chaos, least once a month can be properly prepared. (And we don't run out of ideas within the first month )

Yeah the previous forums icon was a good idea, just need to figure out how to change the current one

How about a replays section?
Replays can teach a n00b quite a lot, and it also allows for skilled players to show off their hax-like skills (like your imba juggeling, H3k )
n00bs can also get their replays reviewed by pros and they can have a DMC about what they need to improve on

One problem with that though

There is a maximum capacity of 20MB for this forum. This will largely be taken up by pictures for the maze gallery.

I like the idea, I really really do, I just would have to find a way around the size issue.

Well... why not using a different site to upload to.(megaupload or something) We can still make a different section for replays and in that section we link to the replay.

Agreed, I suggest making Quickshare the default, as it is very stable and lacks massive amounts of adverts or download limits (max file size is no problem for replays)

He will He uses quickshare for pretty much everything It's like has 5th home (1st is his actual home, 2nd is most probably here, 3rd is Twilight, 4th is HoN )

Nope, not really since betaboard is just the forum software but not necessarily the host So you have the software (betaboard) but where is the files and database living? Who is the hosting company (either free or paid monthly) or it could be with them?

If that is the case, have you considered other hosting companies that aren't so expensive but gives you more freedom?

Its a free host, I think betaboard is the main domain, but it also does in-goo.com (legion td 2 forum uses this) amongst others. Also with it being free, the forum won't get shut down if TTW gets passed on again in the future (hopefully very distant future )

Clever idea, just sad that you get limited by that... I will devise a clever scheme to benefit the forum in all and then PM the respective parties with suggestions and options.

The forum is hosted by; Forumotion.
Started off knowing zip about web-design, forum hosting etc etc. (Not that I'm in anyway good at it now but am trying)
Explored quite a few free-forum hosting possibilities, and it seemed like this was the most ideal - although far from amazing.

The whole purpose of hosting free (as Leafy correctly stated) is when ownership is passed on, there is no burden of costs. For now 20mb is okayish.

But! Suggestions are always welcome

I hope I'm not revealing anything too black-ops but I'm making a post compiler thingy for the compendium coz all that HTML code is just overboard and repettitive, so I was thinking that I could make one for the Suggestions area too? What do you guys think?
