TTW for Dota 2

Short: Yes (soon)

Long: So, Dota 2's custom maps are now in beta and it's quite impressive. I know previously there's been a lot of debate about whether or not TTW will be ported to Dota 2 (I for one saying that it wouldn't be ). After quite a lot of investigation, and with a fair amount of community input, it's been decided that it will in fact be ported to Dota 2.

'What about the standalone?' - It's a fair way into development and will be continued, but it's still far off. Also, I'm sure we're all pretty desperate to play some TTW as soon as possible .

Everything has been downloaded! The standalone will basically be to make money to put back into TTW, but with the dota 2 custom game we can advertise the game a bit more and get people willing to help us for the standalone.

Let the hype begin!

And as Flameberg said, you will be able to get publicity with the Dota 2 mod which is great.

Haka, any infor on the stand alone game? How much will it cost? Can I pre-order it? How do we get hold of it? Come one man- I need my fix!!

Standalone is on hold for now while the Dota2 version is worked on. One of the goals of the standalone is to be released for $5 or less if it can't be released as a free to play. As such, you can't pre-order it although there might be a kick-starter closer to the time.
Edit: AI is almost guaranteed to be in the stand-alone.

Update on Dota2 version:
A playable (albeit with limited builders) will hopefully be released by the end of the month. I'd be lying if I said the Dota2's map builder was as easy to use as the WC3 one . It's pretty tough and there's a lot of undocumented / unimplemented tools (remember it's still in beta), but it's coming along nicely.

A Steam-purchasable version would be awesome.

I tried out Dota 2 Reborn lastnight, more specifically the new Green TD and Enfos but very, very much in Alpha phase and can't imagine it being easy to work with and code. They also need to make available some local servers as I was playing against some guys in Stockholm which was stable enough without dropping, but US East/West and Singapore were baaad

Would be cool for the standalone to include an API to pull in player and game stats to a site with a dynamic leader board that can be filtered by region, player type (goalie or defender) or clans. Nice way to encourage growth towards people playing TTW again by introducing a competitive environment that doesn't have to be manually updated.

It's like I visit this page almost everyday haha. Cant wait for TTW, and Gem TD.

we still love playing ttw here in tree tag room in philippine servers and taiwan servers in garena+.. if you could make a bot for it maybe you'll earn a lot of money and we'll be able to play in online with other players. we need atleast a good update like a new race plz
