Dota 2 TTW update #2

Okay, firstly I need to make a huge apology to all the people who came forward to help with testing. For those who don't know what happened, the closed beta testing was going to commence from the 11th December but then I disappeared without a trace. I'm really sorry guys, I hope you'll forgive me just this time.


"What happened?"
Between my full-time job, exams and failing to meet my own deadlines, I burnt myself out quite badly. Shortly thereafter I was then whisked away for a week-long recovery holiday with very limited signal. I had also forgotten my forum password (I'm a genius, I know ) so I couldn't post this while away...


"So, where's my TTW?"
Somehow I managed to introduce a completely arbitrary bug that makes the game unplayable, as I'm sure you can imagine, this didn't help the situation leading up to my burn out. I have no idea how it came about, nor how it was even possible, but it is there, annoying me endlessly. When I get back I will be able to look at it again with a fresh mind.

I spent far too long trying to fix this bug, so there's still some work to do and while on holiday I thought of a few more pre-release additions. Fortunately I'm going to be house-sitting for a friend for a while, so I'll have nothing but time, and I'm keen to get back to work.

I know, I know, sorry. I want to play it just as much as you, promise . If it makes you feel better I'm going to be working my arse off for the next few weeks.

Dont give yourself deadlines. I've found that it makes you feel rushed and generally uncomfortable, especially if you are busy and struggling with time.
Imho, that way you just force yourself to do it in a very stressfull way.

Personally, I get such problems very often and I have found that not thinking about the deadline that much (or at all which is basically like not having one) leaves out a lot of the stress (which makes me more productive).

E: heh, I just realised that I registered here on out liberation day, 3 years ago. Boy, that flew by real fast!

Deadlines are good though, it shows H3ka that we want TTW and we want it 2 years ago ..

Progress is slow and stuff and the hype train is busy slowly running out of fuel then the angry mob starts..

But I guess am best TTW player in a history, I disappeared when Garena went down and started dota 2, I have been looking for TTW in dota 2 but cant find it, so is there any chance it will be released?

from what I understand it will, but some life problems with the Designer or am I wrong? xD

It will be released we just don't know when, it's been going rough because H3ka had to try and learn everything all over again - new engine has new problems.

There's only 2 functional races so far and some of the minor stuff has been added like income.

Sadly as h3ka fixes 2 bugs he finds another 1 so it's taking some time but he's slowly making progress, we wanted to test it a few days ago but we're just waiting for the major known bugs to be fixed before we do that.

So yeah we don't know when it will be released yet hopefully soon.

Feel free to add h3ka as a friend on steam then you should have access to the map, but there's still a lot of work still to do and it's slow progress sadly.

The nostalgia has become too great. TTW was my favorite mod next to dota. Please allow me to help in anyway I can. I have, at least, a computer science degree.

Was out of development for a few months, came back and everything was broken . Between Dota changing things (often without documenting them) and leaving it where it was, it's been a mission to get it back into a working state.

I've almost got it working again and I'm busy adding more content - specifically more races at the moment.

I've also been working on a new website which will allow me to link / record (Dota2) TTW games, for things like stats and what not

After remembering how much fun I had with this map years and years ago, I googled it and found this. But there hasn't been an update for 3 months so I wanted to give it an "up". Any news?
